something has happend to me that i never imagined.
i love to read.
like, love it so much i want to start a book club.
and jake's new nickname for me is Book Worm.
over the summer i read The Help. It was the first time
(yes, first time in 28 years)
(yes, first time in 28 years)
that I understood what it meant to get lost in a book.
I read it in 2 days and when it ended,
I cried and cried...
so sad to say goodbye to those characters that I grew to love so much.
It took me a few months to pick my next book
because I didn't think I could love another one like The Help.
But, I just read The Hunger Games
(again in 2 days which I'm bragging about because I've never read books so fast in my life)
and i'm obsessed.
I can't wait to grab the next one in the series.
If you too are a book worm, will you let me know some books
that I've missed out on all these years that are must reads?!

such a book worm!! I LOVE to read! I have read The Help... loved it! And am in the 3rd book in the Hunger Games series... SO great, although I am kind of ready to see it to the end... Last summer I read Sarah's Key, which was turned into a movie... and it is fabulous! If you have never read Bridge to Terabithia (it's for kids) you NEED to! So so good, my all time favorite book! Same Kind of Different As Me is fabulous but be prepared to cry... like UGLY cry! As cheesy as it is... I LOVED the Twilight series... never have seen any of the movies, but kind of got a Hunger Games thing going on with it. Next on my list is Welcome to the World Baby Girl by Fannie Flagg (she wrote Fried Green Tomatoes!) Oh and I am reading Blue Like Jazz... and I am sure you have already read it like every one else in America... I am just now catching up on that one!
ReplyDeleteAND NOW... longest comment ever!! Happy reading and keep sharing your good finds... I'll be in your blog book club! :)
Loved the Hunger Games. Check out the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanavitch, Memoirs of a Geisha, Big Stone Gap, & Harry Potter if you haven't read that series.
ReplyDeleteAnything by francine rivers! Especially the mark of the lion series...just know the first 50ish pages are hard to get through!! You are so funny Emily! Can't wait to see y'all!!
ReplyDeleteread the help in all of 1 day and just started the Hunger games! :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED both The Help and The Hunger Games. Someone else recommended Same Kind of Different as Me. It is not a "get lost in it" kind of book like the others, but it is an amazing Christian true story. The authors from your neck of the woods, too. If you want a spiritual "kick in the pants", check it out. Check out goodreads.com. It is like Pinterest but for books. Friends rate a review books they have read. I recently finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. It is a classic...a little slow, but beautifully written.
